Mariel Rodriguez jealous of Bea Alonzo?

Mariel Rodriguez on Monday said she is not jealous of Bea Alonzo despite being the newest leading lady of Rodriguez's husband, action star Robin Padilla.

In an interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com on Monday, Rodriguez said that she has nothing against Alonzo and stressed that she supports Alonzo and her husband's first project together. Alonzo and Padilla are starring in ABS-CBN's newest television series "Guns and Roses."

"I'm not just use to it na katulad 'yung kumakanta (para sa promotion). Hindi ako sanay. Kasi ang alam ko sa akin lang siya kumakanta. Walang may kasalanan, walang anything. Hindi lang ako sanay," Rodriguez said.

"Hindi naman isyu ang pagta-trabaho. Alam namin 'yun kaya kami nagta-trabaho lalo na si Robin marami siyang gustong matulungan. This is our medium, na magawa kung ano ang gusto naming magawa," she added.

Rodriguez also added that she is happy that Padilla is working with Alonzo whom she describes as a great actress.

"I've always been a fan of Bea. Sa 'Maging Sino Ka Man' pa lang ni Bea, alam niya yan. For me, as a dramatic actress siya ang pinakamagaling. Siya ang Prinsesa ng Primetime at Reyna ng ABS-CBN. Talagang sobra kong saya na siya ang partner ni Robin," Rodriguez said.

Adjustment period

Rodriguez statement stemmed from Padilla's interview over "The Buzz" that he cried over his wife's sentiments.

Padilla married Rodriguez last year after a whirlwind romance on the set of the now defunct "Pilipinas Win na Win" noontime show.

The two were married in a ceremony inside the Taj Mahal in Agra, India last August. Plans to hold a church wedding in the Philippines have been put on hold.

Mariel said she is happy that her marriage to Padilla is getting stronger. She is also trying her best to adjust to Padilla's busy schedule now that the actor is doing a new teleserye.

"Sobrang bait niya talaga, as in ibang klase. Siguro hindi lang ako sanay. Kasi normally kapag weekend magkasama kami pero siyempre naiintindihan ko naman na nagta-trabaho siya. It's adjustment also for me. Kasi may ibang bagay na sa akin lang niya ginagawa. Pero ganoon siya talaga. Sobrang gentleman niya. Sobrang bait niya sa lahat. So I can't help but feel na aww hindi na kami laging magkasama pero he really makes an effort at nagpapasalamat ako doon," Rodriguez said.
